The winter celebrations in Belitsa include diverse sports and cultural program. There are a ski slalom and many outdoor games. Mummers with scary masks drive away evil spirits, but also dance for good fortune, fertility and prosperity. It is believed that the more "chants" you receive from the masked mummers, the farther the evil will "run away" from you. Semkovo Resort is located 17 km from the town of Belitsa, nestled at the foot of Rila (about 1600-1750 meters above sea level).
